With this in mind, Belle Fiore has placed an emphasis on supporting local artists and the community they have created here in Southern Oregon. In service to this commitment, we have initiated several programs to help make Belle Fiore a significant and supportive place for artists and art-lovers alike.
Belle Fiore Winery showcases local art in our gallery spaces. Beginning with Deanna St. Martin’s stunning watercolors (example at right) in October of 2013, we have been featuring a different artist each week, providing an enchanting venue encouraging expression of the exhibit. Visitors to the Belle Fiore Winery are thrilled to view exhibits and hear the techniques used to create the art.
Belle Fiore has joined the Ashland Gallery Association, an organization that recognizes and promotes local artists and galleries. Through the AGA, Belle Fiore is a participating gallery for the monthly First Friday Art Walk, an important effort to highlight exciting developments from local artists and the galleries showing their work. The First Friday Art Walk takes place on the first Friday of each month and is a guided tour of AGA’s list of local galleries with rotating exhibits.
Belle Fiore has established the Belle Arte Label, which features a different work of local art for each Belle Arte vintage. Winning artwork is placed on display in one of Belle Fiore’s gallery spaces, as well as commemorated on the label of all Belle Arte wines from that vintage. This unique program seeks to engage, connect, and inspire local artists.
Our appreciation of all mediums in art is a core principle of our vision and our connection to the community. We encourage you to stop by and help support the artists in your community.
2015 Belle Arte Label Winner-Greg Thweatt
How wonderful it is to be part of a creative process, to add to our world instead of taking from it. This is what being an artist means to me. Through paint or ink, canvas and paper I can be part of a conversation. This dialog exists with those that have influenced my work, with those that view these creations and with the creation itself. The sum of creating, conversing and collaborating combine to foster a connectedness with the world around us. It is with gratitude and humility that I share this process. -Greg Thweatt
